Hardware Engineer - Part time / paid / Experiential Learning

Job Purpose: ANZE Engineering Product Development: Develop and implement hardware, PCB design for current product prototypes and new product development. Work with hardware team to implement and plan product family providing robust end user products with internal scalability. Plan for “a Family of Products” to be used for race cars. Including but not limited to use in the upper echelons of motorsports. (Indy car, sports cars, drag race, go karts).  

Engineering Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing, selection, and building hardware
  • Recommending new hardware designs
  • Performing tests of new hardware and software
  • Troubleshooting and debugging performance issues
  • Working with vendors and hardware suppliers to implement new designs.
  • Supporting the hardware engineering team
  • Providing technical support for hardware issues
  • Following industry-standard processes and procedures
  • Collaborating with other engineers
  • Gathering and analyzing requirements from design team and competitors
  • Testing hardware releases
  • Working closely with design team and Beta test group to resolve issues.
  • Providing technical support for pre-production and production team

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree - or current enrollment - in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hardware engineering
  • Familiarity with a wide range of hardware devices
  • Strong understanding of embedded software development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Skills:

·        Knowledge of Race car Data Acquisition- MoTec, Aim, Bosch

·        FSAE or Mini BAJA background / active team member

·        Continual Learning – curious about PCB design and current MFG techniques,

o   FPGA, Military and Automotive standards
